One pound bag of dried, natural walnut hulls.
(Bag may be a 2 pound bag that contains dried nuts with the hulls attached. You do NOT need to remove the hulls.)
Directions: Place hulls (or nuts with hulls attached)into pantyhose or other cloth bag, to keep hull fragments from entering dye bath but allow stain to seep through. Simmer with tap water in enamel pot, adding water when needed, until color you like is obtained.
Yields 3-5 gallons depending on color intensity desired.
The bag of walnut hulls can be dried and reused until no more color is obtained.
Can also be placed into a plastic bucket and allowed to soak until color is obtained.
